Who we are

This website is operated for Friends of Spencer Bernard, the campaign committee for Spencer Bernard. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit this website, contact the campaign, sign up for updates, or follow a link to make a donation.

Information we collect

• Contact forms: We collect the name, email address, message, and any subject or other details you submit so we can read and respond to your inquiry. Sending a contact message does not by itself sign you up for campaign emails or texts.
• Newsletter form: We collect your first and last name, email address, optional phone number, and your separate email and optional text consent choices to provide the updates you request. Providing a phone number without selecting text consent does not sign you up for texts. The form also records which version of its consent wording was shown.
• Site usage: Our hosting provider and Google Analytics may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, approximate location, and visit times. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and how people use this website.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in a contact message unless it is needed for your inquiry.

How we use information

We use form submissions to respond to messages, send updates you requested, manage email and text opt-outs, maintain the website, prevent spam and abuse, and understand site traffic. We may also retain records needed to administer the campaign or comply with applicable law.

Service providers and donation links

The website uses Netlify for hosting and form processing, and Google Analytics for site measurement. These providers may process information to deliver their services. If the campaign uses an email or text messaging provider to send requested updates, that provider may process the contact details needed to deliver messages and honor opt-outs. We do not sell email or text opt-in data or consent. We do not share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data and consent with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.

The Donate Now link takes you to WinRed, an external donation platform. Donations and payment details you enter there are handled on WinRed's site under its own terms and privacy policy. This website does not ask for or process your card details.

Cookies and analytics choices

Google Analytics loads only if you select Allow analytics in the site's choice dialog. You can change that choice using Privacy choices in the footer. If allowed, it may set or read cookies and process usage information under Google's policies. You can also limit cookies through your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported. Blocking cookies may affect analytics but should not prevent you from reading the site. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from campaign emails using the unsubscribe instructions in an email. If you receive campaign texts, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You can also contact us at spencerforgreece@gmail.com to ask about your information or request that we stop contacting you. We will honor applicable requests, subject to records we must retain by law.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including responding to inquiries, managing subscriptions and opt-outs, and meeting legal obligations. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted information.
